En La Escena reporter Leticia Reyes attended the BMI Verano Alternativa Music Showcase held at SOB's in New York City. Featured in this years showcase were Punto G NYC, a Columbian latin rock funk band, Maria Isa, a Minnesota native of Puerto Rican descent performing her latest songs from her CD "Street Politics". Maluca, a New York City Dominican by product and self proclaimed 1/2 pain in the ass, with her mix of club rhythms. Last but not least Bachaco, a mixture of Reggae, Columbian Cumbia, Ska and hip hop, sung in a combination of English and Spanish.
